About us

CO-CREATION IS POSSIBLE FOR ANYBODY WHO REALLY WANTS IT

Meet Ricky Ricardo

Ricky Ricardo Villa is the founder of Casa Sur Hacienda, a unique community hub in San Diego’s South Bay.

Born in Mexico City, Ricky earned his bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Arts and began his career at El Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, Radio Educación, and in the Broadway and Show Business industry.

In his twenties, he moved to New York City, where he lived for 20 years. There, he worked across diverse fields—including HSBC Bank, Prudential Financial, Re/Max Today, New York University, and the fitness industry at Equinox, New York Sports Club, and DanceSport. He also performed as a Latin Dance and Ballroom dancer at the prestigious Lincoln Center Midsummer Festival.

Before relocating to California, Ricky earned a master’s degree in Bilingual, General, and Special Childhood Education, and served as a Case Manager and Special Education Teacher in the New York City public and private school systems.

Inspired by Intentional Communities, Ecovillages, and Artist-in-Residence programs in New York and Vermont, Ricky moved to San Diego to create a multidisciplinary space for art, business, professional development, culture, and community support—especially for underserved groups and causes.

Today, through Casa Sur Hacienda, Ricky hosts and co-produces community gatherings, retreats, networking events, and artist residencies, while supporting nonprofits with fundraising, workshops, outreach campaigns, and private events.

He is an active member of BNI La Mesa, the Chula Vista and National City Chambers of Commerce, and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. He also volunteers with Cause San Diego and Corazón de Vida San Diego Chapter.

Beyond his professional work, Ricky is passionate about wellness. He enjoys open-water swimming in La Jolla, hot yoga, road cycling, and continues to dance and teach privately.
